Just picked up a vintage red 93 touring fd

Hi guys.... I am new to the board so I guess I will start out with alittle bit about myself. I am from Columbus Ohio. My name is Brett and im 24 years old and for my birthday "april 29th" I decided to trade my 1993 factory vtec prelude for a clean but not running fd3s. Why the guy traded me.... Im not really sure about that. Guess he really liked my lude. Now this made my s2000 just alittle bit jelous. Oh well. Anyways the engine needs to be rebuilt and I should have this beast back on the road where it should be. This is one of those few fd Gems out there waiting for someone to fix it. Every one talks about how rare this car is in all. Mine sat for 8 years not running.... kinda scary right. I have yet to find any bit marks on the harness but one can never tell. The interior has not a single flaw though. Looked like a bank vault inside with a few spider webs. No I have not found any money in it yet. The body is about close to perfect as you will get rather than the clear coat starting to strip. The last owner took pretty good care of the car aside from letting it set so long. He told me he use to clean it ever few months inside and out. Must be very sad to do that and not have the money to get it running. I have taken some pictures of the car that I will share with you all just as soon as I get this engine out.... still trying to figure out how to release the tranny from the engine... I know its easy once you have done it a few times... should be out by tomorrow I hope to share the pictures with you all soon. Looking forward to chating with you guys and maybe meeting up if there are any fellow fd3s owners in central ohio still.

Congratulations, its nice to see someone making a non-runner into a runner instead of parting it out. Good luck with your project!

Good luck with the rebuild. While you have the engine out clean the bay really good. You will kick yourself later for not doing it.

Got the engine out this morning. Felt great after having alittle trouble with the pull type clutch idea.... still dont know who came up with that. Its simple after you have done it once and know what to do. I might start a new thread with some pictures of my progress as I go through it. I know there are already more than a hand full but hey the more the merry right?
