To just make it run or to change things up
My build has Been belated many times now by life and issues. If it could go wrong it did. Lost a house,dd was in an accident, bought another dd and lost the motor 3k miles later, then was sued and lost all my bank accounts. it has been a trying two yeas since my fd ran and even then I only drove it 200 miles before taking it apart to start the build. my quandary is I have a powerfc, datalogit, apexi avcr, and hks twinpower. I can install these with a new harness and have it running after a bit of fab being completed. But I am bombarded with newer ecu options that are avail(haltech adaptronic ect), and ignition options like the aem marine coils. is it worth using the old tried and true bits or better to just bite the bullet and sell them and go with the newer fancy stuff. Car is single turbo 6265, gz lim, id2000 sec injectors, and all the supporting -vmount exhaust ect. will be tuned to 1 bar until I choose a aux injection option and then push it into the 20+psi range. Any and all Input is greatly appreciated.
Sounds like a rough time behind you. Leaning on "If if could go wrong, it did" it sounds like starting a KISS build may be appropriate. Do you have a good solid DD now? If targeting the R7 for a DD (a nice one at that) closer to stock and simple is better. But, on that note, I've been running a properly tuned PowerFc for the last 10 years with no issues - as a semi daily driver.
no I have two dd's now due to the issues. fd is only for fun it's been a dream to build one since I was a teenager drooling over import rags. And that was quite some time ago
I know what I have will work. just not sure if its worth waiting a bit longer for the newer stuff.
