just an idea for passing smog

i know you can make just about anything short of a single pass smog. but i live in ca and they need the check engine light so i have to put in my stock computer for the test which means i cant lean it out or adjust anything. so this was my idea hook up a fan/pump after the cat so it brings the percentages down on the emisions i dont know what kind of pump would put out enough volume but wouldnt that work to pass?
and i apoligize if this is common knowlage i thought it was a good idea

Well if you're using the stock computer you should be plenty lean to pass smog, even with only a single high flow cat. However there are other advantages to a programmable computer, and you can always "hack" the check engine light to make it turn on by wiring it seperately. I believe there was also a way of making it turn on with the PFC without completely taking out of the system. Besides, if they're checking for the check engine light, they'll probably notice that you have a fan blowing air into your exhaust too . Another trick that is practically foolproof is to run some alcohol in your gas tank. It burns almost emission free and is compatible with your fuel system. With enough you could probably pass with a midpipe.
