I know, nothing new to you oringinal 5 spd people, but going from the 3.9 auto gears to the 4.1 is a tremendous difference. Changing the differential wasn't nearly as hard as i thought. Its a lot easier taking the whole rotor assembly off though to get the driveshafts out... Getting them to snap back into the differential was the hardest part. Also found out my PPF nuts were loose, probably from when I did the conversion. There is no more twisting and the shifter is steady as new now.

 

Did you do the fuel filter while you were at it?

 

just did the fuel filter a little while ago, its nice to see that it was re attached properly though!

 

could you give more details on what is involved. Did you change the whole differential or just the gears in it? Is it like putting a KAAZ or something like it?

could i install some bigger gear and sell mine to someone who is doing the auto-5sp swap?

 

It sounds like he just swapped in the 5-spd 4.1 ring and pinion.

I wonder if he took pics .
