Just curious !!!

I have seen some 93 FD with both the stock Y-Pipe and Intake Elbow painted silver and some just have black Y-pipe and intake elbow. Also some 94 and 95 FD has silver Y-pips and black intake elbow.

Did Mazda just put in these parts randomly without color matching them or was that replaced by the owner itself.

Just curious to know about that

The Y-Pipe that is not black (plastic) is the upgraded Efini Y-Pipe which was offered on the 99+ RX-7's:

As for the stock elbow, the '93s had the silver colored elbow. I believe they changed to the black elbow in '94. Not sure if there was any reasoning behind it.

Good question. I always wondered why mine was silver and why I saw so many black ones in other pictures!
