Exclamation JUNK FD on EBAY be careful Bidding

heres the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6327

if anyone is thinking of buying this car. approach it with extreme caution. it is from the town that i live in, i was going to buy it myself for $1500, but this "wholesaler" bought it for $3000 from the woman selling it. i was going to fix it or part it out.

the story of the car is this woman bought it for her daughter off of autotrader and the car ran for one day and then craped out on her. she brought it to a local shop and they quoted her over $8,000 to get it running correctly. he gave her a detailed report of everything wrong with the car so that she could take legal action against the person who sold it to her, i have a copy of it. its over 40 pages long and includes things like terrible re-spray. cut ecu wires, the real mileage is unknown, the front strut was broken from where it bolts, and plenty of other things i cant remember.

i am not saying do not buy this car as a project, but i suggest anyone serious about getting this car to look at it in person. also i can give the 40 page summary of its extensive damage to anyone who needs it.

Because they dont have enough money to mod a car correctly (typically) and usually lack the knowledge on how to work on the car themselves. This leads to botched jobs and hamfisted modding. A car like this is very tempting to a 17 or 18 year old. It can be purchased for 8-10 grand. It also cost 10x more then what a honda would cost to mod and or maintain. So it becomes a canidate for just turning up the boost with no 1300 dollar ECU upgrade. No 1100 dollar Fuel upgrades, etc etc. Just a 200 dollar boost controller and NOW WERE MAKING POWER!!! This just leads to the demise or the car.
