I met John the day before the big Gainsville meet, I didn't really know who he was so I just assumed he was one of Holly (woodward)'s Friends that drove a badass P.E.P. I later read up on the big list and on the forum of some of the good stuff he's done and some of the not so good stuff. I agree with whoever wrote he is a good guy and always comes through in the end. He was willing to front me money to go to the 24hrs. of Sebring, I couldn't get out of work but I knew The Mazda Guy formerly known as John Duff would have fronted me the money in a heart beat. He is a really nice guy with a really nice car (maybe one day I'll get to Drive it. Hint hint, John) I don't care what anybody says about Mr.Duff he is a great guy in my book.

Ned,
The Mazdamania event Nathan Freedenburg and John Duff put on at Mid Ohio May 1997 was my first event drivers school...
I thought the Mid Ohio event went well, but it's a shame that event ended up being such a debacle for John Duff and Steve Schardt...
It's also a shame the Road Atlanta school never happened, and so many people lost their money...

FYI for those who don't know, John Duff is pictured in the Yamaguchi FD Rx7 book, wearing a blue t-shirt that reads, "Team Mazda, The Heavy Favorites"...
John says, at the time, Team Mazda was still kicking butt despite the weight penalty that was imposed on their car for winning so often...
I pointed out John Duff's "celeb status" at the MADS Summit Point event April '99...John was really surprised I spotted his pic in the book I remember that we (large group of MADS participants) were at the Texas Roadhouse steak place having a great meal and lots of beer...ahhh...those were the good times we had BEFORE all this PFS stuff started happening
