Jdm rx7, 2nd injector or cluster??

Hi, I'm fairly new here
I bought my first rx7 august of last summer. i bought it from jdm montreal and its 1993 rx-7 base model. its got 113k on it.
Ever since i bought its been acting very strange. ill try my best to explain

when the weather is below 30c, the car runs terrible and i cant go past 5k rpm*. its feels like a fuel shutoff or something like that. ill stomp on the petal and it does nothing until the car starts to decelerate (few seconds pass) and it will pick up again and die at 5k. also while it have this problem my odometer back-light is on, but the actual numbers don't show up.
*neutral- i can rev to red line no problem
first- i can drive it from idle to red line no problem
second, third, fourth, fifth i have to land in the gear between 3000 and 5000 rpm or it will give me that "dead petal" even below 3k rpm i has no acceleration. i have to then shift into a gear that will land me between 3k-5k. also if i shift above 5.8k-6k rpm it will go to red line.
Now, when its 30c and hotter out, the car runs perfectly, and the odometer shows up like it should and i can shift and drive like nothings wrong. but only on hot hot summer days.
This leads me in my conclusion.
-cold solder joint?
-second injector kicks in a 5k rpm or maybe its a safety shut off?
-odometer has an issue?
-any other ideas?

car is fairly stock, no upgrades done other then an HKS b/v, exhaust tip, turbo timer.

it's pedal.. not petal - as in a flower petal.

I have no idea what the problem is.. I just had to say something :0


are you saying that the tach won't go above 5k or that the engine itself will literally not spin above 5k?

the engine can physically go from 0 - red line, but I'm using 5k on the rpm as a reference number to where i experience the problem. ex: if i were crusing at 3500 in 4th gear do about 80km/h, if i were to drop in second i would be put roughly in 6000 rpm range and it would take off to red line. it works only when i land over 5k. i cant get to anything higher by just driving
