JDM Lower Intake Manifold vs Extreme LIM
Does anybody have any experience with the '99 JDM LIM (PN# N3F1-13-100)?
It is a lot cheaper than the Extreme LIM at $296.30 vs $500.00. I believe it is clean of Air Control Value, AWS etc. but do not know if it has less "kinks" than the US version.

Neither of those are on the LIM. The JDM LIM is missing the egr valve. Other than looking slightly cleaner, it does not offer much performance benefit. I assume you are referring to the Ground Zero or Excessive Motorsports LIM. The stock LIM distributes air very unevenly between the rotors. This remedies the problem and also flows significantly better.

Sorry; I was sloppy, I ment "Excessive Motorsports" and yes AWS is on UIM, but on my car I found the ACV and EGR are on the lower LIM but I believe these do not exist in JDM. My question is are the runners the same kniky path as USDM or cleaner like the Excessive motorsport LIM?
I haven't seen the JDM LIM, but here is a side-by-side comparison of the Xcessive LIM and the stock LIM from my 1994 model.

I'm in the process of installing this LIM and 4-injector fuel rail in my otherwise-stock twin-turbo engine bay. There are a few things that need to be done to the XS LIM for it to fit with the stock twins, and a few stock items that need to be modified because the XS LIM moves the UIM forward by at least a couple of centimeters. I've documented this more in a build-up thread on another rotary forum and am planning to share that info here when the project is finished.

+1 have it...love it. But be prepared to make a few very small/simple mods. It does move the UIM, TB forward toward the strut bar a bit. You will need to bend/reshape the oil filler neck and modify the bracket where the TB bolts to the motor. It i really not that big of deal.
Thanks. I searched Google and could not find any. I have never seen LIM for sale like this. Wonder why the rx7store and other RX7 retail sites don't carry them?
I wish I would have found that before I spent I lot of time and money modifying my stock LIM. I spent $300 having a machine shop trim the outside to fit my turbo/downpipe and weld it up. It would have been better to spend a little more and get a cleaner manifold with more flow.

That's interesting, I've never heard of this modification before. Will the stock ECU handle it well? I beleive the flow is significally increased with this LIM
EDIT: I just answered myself : "WARNING: This manifold requires a re-tuning of the Air/Fuel. Some applications have shown up to a 23% increase in air flow into the rotors."

Pettit is offering a Street Ported lower intake manifold as well as a Race Ported option.

Word, everything Ive seen show up in the mail from Pettit is a total piece of trash, id ASSUME their LIM isn't any different.
Excessive LIM's are the shiz, they come casted for stock ports, so if you have a ported motor, it will take a little port-matching to fully tap the potential of the Excessive LIM.

The Pettit LIM is a JDM 92-95 and/or US Cali 95 N3A7-13-100 manifold maybe with some porting done by Pettit. This offers the elimination of the EGR passages and less kink in after runner. Can buy cheaper on used or Mazdacomp site.
As to Excessive LIM, it too needs some clean up and porting, casting internals are rougher than stock and at least on mine runners were offset from gasket line up and UIM. Not the most impressive $500 plus item.

I have the Excessive on my car as well. Very nice piece but the ports straight from the manufacturer are really sloppy and need to be cleaned up. I know it just was not mine as I've seen pictures of a few others floating around. Still much better than the stock one though.
with the Excessive LIM can you retain your stock fuel rail?
and what do you do with the EGR and the rest of the vaccum lines missing from the LIM? T them out from the UIM ?

Benji stated up to 23% in crease in air flow. I'd be very curious how that translates into power.
I mean just looking at it you know it flows far better.

sounds like money well spent to me. is the upper intake manifold not that much of a restriction? i cant really find anything on that. some people attempt to port them....
