Jacobs Ignition W/ Pettit ECU?

Hey everyone,

I Have the pettit mapped to 1 bar, and i just recently bought the Jacobs Igniton amp.... Will the ECU encounter any problems with the better ignition?

It would seem that there wouldnt be anyproblems. The car would run better and smoother, etc etc...
im just curious and making sure its prefectly fine to have it on my car
Thanks
Huy

I'm using the Crane Hi-6 for now about 2 yrs. You'll notive a
slightly smoother idle. And also a quicker throdle responce.

It' should add about a 10 - 15 hp. It's fun to have the rear tires
break loose when the second turbo comes in on second gear.

Anyone Breaking the rear tires loose in 3rd gear when the second turbo comes on line?

I have heard of more than a few people having problems with aftermarket ignitions regardless of the ecu used. Although there are benefits (I doubt 10-15 hp) the risks are too high IMHO. Since I have no direct first hand experience I won't give any specifics on the various problems that you might encounter down the road but I will say this, be sure you do your research before putting that thing in. The only ignition I would put in my car is the HKS unit.

Maybe i dont know... but to me ignitions are ignitions... they amplify the spark... i dont see why the HKS would be any differnt from the Jacobs. They would seem to serve the same purpose.
im not trying to make anyone mad, just clearing things up
Thanks

plenty of people use both the jacobs and HKS units.

HKS is obviously an easier install, but the jacobs is an obvious good choice and "proven" unit since ari yallon and a few others use it on their cars and its sold/recommended by rx7.com

i wouldnt have any apprehensions about using it. i will probably go with the HKS unit simply b/c of ease of install, but the jacobs is very tempting. it just depends on what i find for sale when i go looking.
