Ive chosen the color that im painting my car.

Im in love with it (no not just the car ) but ferrari's website, and all others, list it as a custom color. Its a color they obviously paint many of the f430's so it is not just a 1 off. How would I go about reproducing this color? What kind of information do I need to bring my painter to get this on my car?

Thanks much, Mike

I think it is called "black." Just kidding, you need the paint code and you should be able to duplicate it.

your painter/bodyshop might be able to look up the code by year/make/model.

so is that silver, grey, charcoal?

I have a Titanium Silver Beemer.
The color is good and easy to maintain, but it
so bland. I can't say in words what I mean, but
you'll understand after about 4 months.

goodluck

why not just get the paint code for the IS300 gunmetal, then add some more black and mix til you get the right color????

It is my understanding that Ferraris use Glasurit (ala BASF) paint which is european.

http://www.ferrariclub.com/faq/colors.html

Glasurit is also much more expensive than your garden variety PPG paint solutions. Make sure your bodywork and color sanding coincides with the cost of this paint. No sense having a million dollar paint job and a two cent finish.

sweet color choice, although looking through Ferrari's choices i would have to go (out of the group) the "Nero Daytona" sounds cool and looks really sweet, but then again i've always been a fan for black . either way they are all sweet colors, well they have to be, it's Ferrari.

I was at the Ferrari dealership and they had an F430 in that color. It's like Titanium silver metallic. When I go to paint my next car it will be that color as well....If you can't find the code just run to a dealership and look in the door jam.

Haha, must be easier everywhere else in the world. Easier said than done here, the nearest *new* Ferrari dealership is 165 miles away in Orlando

the bodywork will be very nice, but its going to be a ppg match. That damned stuff is already at the limits of my budget

IF you can find a local dealer for Matrix paint, it is good. The guys are former PPG guys and started making their own stuff. It is good. The clear is great The base covers well and lays out easy. I have have very good luck with it. OH, and it is cheaper...$$$$

talked to the painter, its going to be about 2600$ for the whole job, which is cheaper than i thought

he said just bring him a couple pics and we can match it with something he has in his books. I guess that will be good enough seeing as how the only thing ive seen of this paint color is what ive seen on the net.

Will post pics in about 3 weeks when its done

Does your painter plan to remove the engine to paint the engine bay as well as all jambs?

hes going to do the jambs, under hood, sides of engine bay and trunk area. Ide rather have a little bit of unpainted area that i can do myself with alot of taping and some time then risk pulling my engine and screwing something up. (since its running perfectly right now)
