Irritating brake problem.

The first time i press the pedal it goes down a bit and the second time the pedal reacts higher up.
I've read about it on other threads and also this website.

http://www.stoptech.com/whitepapers/knockback.htm

The question i have is if i have the wrong brake fluid, i'm using DOT 5, but just recently i saw on the filler cap that it says "use´DOT 3 brake fluid only" What brake fluid are u using?

It's a common trait of all FDs (and most cars for that matter).

Just make sure you are running AT LEAST DOT 3 fluid and you properly bleed your brakes.

Using Super Blue here, but you better get used to this:

2. Tap-up the brakes when necessary

This practice may not sound glamorous, but you might be surprised to find how many professional road racers use this technique on a regular basis. All that is usually necessary is a one- or two-tap application of the brake pedal just moments before your braking zone arrives. It takes some practice to get used to, but like heel-toe downshifting eventually it just becomes habit. Note that if you are applying the brakes hard enough to feel the car decelerate you are applying too much pressure – you only need enough pressure to seat the components, not to build torque!

as rynberg stated, the "double-pump" action is pretty common. Some people have found that switching to SS brakelines helps somewhat.

Becareful with the fluid, as DOT 3/4 is not compatable with DOT 5. I would not recommend switching back, as silicone based brake fluid (DOT 5) is pretty tenacious stuff, and it's hard to get all of it out of your lines. Bleed the brakes a couple of times to ensure that all traces of the old DOT 3 is out of the system.

I'm using DOT 5 now, don't know what fluid was in before i owned it.

I will switch back to DOT 3 or 4 and see if it helps.
I didnt need to double-pump when i bought the car, not sure when it started but im suspecting that it started when i first changed fluid to DOT 5.

Like I said, I would NOT recommend switching back. Switching back to DOT 3 will not help your problem. Plus, it's hard to get rid of DOT 5 once you have it.

Just bleed the brakes once or twice to ensure there is no more DOT 3 (just in case there is). Then it won't be an issue.
