Interior Door Panels and Rear Storage Area Panels

I’ve searched this forum as well as others, and I cannot seem to find a definitive answer on this topic. Here’s what I would like to do…

I have a ’94 Black Touring model with tan leather seats, black door panels, and black rear storage area panels. I’ve seen other RX-7’s with tan seats as well as tan door panels and tan rear storage area panels. However, I think that the all tan (mixed tan is a more accurate description, since some of the interior is still black) interiors that I’ve seen have all been on ’93 models.

1. Did the ’94 models not come with the option of tan all the way around?
2. Are the ’93 and ’94 interior panels interchangeable?
3. How hard is it going to be to find what I’m looking for and how much is it going to cost?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Taikutsu,

Do you have the entire set of tan interior? If not, what all pieces do you have? What kind of condition are they in? How much do you want for the lot? Can I borrow a thousand bucks? Doh! Sorry, I was on a roll.

Thanks

93 models had matching door panels, seats, carpet, rear panels, rear bins and roof liner (tan or red).

94 & 95 had matching seats and carpet (tan or red). In addition, the shifter console, hvac console, instrument console and door panels had a non-coated crinkle surface whereas the 93 had a smooth black coating which is known to scratch easily.

If you are trying to convert your interior to all tan, I'll be the first in the long line of people willing to swap with you.
