interesting gauge pod for miatas...
i wonder of this will work with our FD's...

"This custom designed panel is specifically injection molded in black polycarbonate to fit your DIN (radio) slot (1997 to 2005 Miata) AND it will also fit some 1996 models (with #1273 radio). It is also rumored to be able to fit earlier cars by swapping out the console surround. It's finish will match the other items in your console exactly (radio, HVAC controls), and it snaps into place - no gluing necessary.
The panel comes standard with two 52.4 mm (2.062 inch) gauge openings. If you want a 3 hole panel, we will drill it for you. If you want to be able to install a BRB (Big Red start button from a Honda S-2000) we can drill the 1-1/4" hole for that as well. See examples in the photo."

.
or you can easily make your own, I made one out of some display board purchased at office max, cost was minimal but it wasn't as nice as a proffessionally made one:

The other smaller hole was for my nitrous switch, must not have had it in at this point.

(snap drive may not work but I did use the thompson panel with three holes.)

I had one of these before it was stolen and I loved it.

Just be careful if you live in extremely hot climates as the plastic *can* deform. I live in FL and never really had an issue until I parked the car for awhile and the interior temps got very high and started to reshape it slightly.

I used this exact (3 hole) in my Fd, Mechanical water, boost and wideband fit
perfectly, no dremel (went that route the 1st time), well worth the $! I have no problem reading any of the gauges, looks stock and not "ricey" like the pillar mounts.
