I am defiently interested in one of the under belly trays for my car. Any ETA on when you would have them completed for a Cwest kit?

 

duno on the r85 kit until end of march when ill get it tuned, its not installed yet, im having a bigger wg put on the manifold

dunno on a cwest test fit yet, there is snow on teh ground here still so its hard to get a cwest nose 7 over to the shop in this weather

 

i have the trace of the undertray done and just have to convert it to a file that i can send to teklam to see how much it cost to make the cut

 

update:

I finished the file and have send an email to my material source to see how much it cost to get it precut... more to come.

ok, i finally had some time to get back to this, I found a MUCH cheaper material than the exotic teklam I planned on using before and it has similar weight and strength characteristics.

I already have a quote from my source on the material and the cut, as soon as I work out a few more details I will post a new thread with the final cost, any options, and how to buy them.

Damian's working on making a full underbody carriage for the FD. I got him pics of a Skyline and Ferrari undercarriage, and I thought he might be interested to see the ductwork on the Carrera GT.

 

What about the Lexus dimpples?

I believe the dimples are more to reduce noise, otherwise racing teams would have dimples underneath cars.

i ordered a prototype out of my new material source, if it passes my inspection I will start selling the undertray/splitters and look at making the shape for other noses (ie, stock )

 

ok, the prototype came and I will be test fitting some other noses. I will figure out if there will be any 'options' for the tundertray/splitter and start selling them soon. I'll post a new thread on them once I am ready to start selling.

 

Damian, I have a prototype undertray for my car, but it's aluminum :thumbs down: I need something composite, maybe you can refer me to your supplier, or sell me one if they're reasonably priced I spent a lot of time making the one I have, but the one you have is probably nicer. Also what did you use as a spacer for the rear mounting point?

by aluminum you mean solid aluminum?

if you want one like my exotic composite then call teklam, that is what I used, its a bout 1K a sheet though :-)

my new material is slightly heavier and less exotic (aluminum skins), but MUCH cheaper, so it makes them affordable. I was hoping to get the teklam version below the $700 mark, but with the new material i think i can get the price down to the $400 mark. maybe even cheaper depending on a group buy numbers.

keep in mine my design is an undertray AND splitter, if you look to buy just one of those from any other vendor you will easily be at or over the price of what mine will be.

aluminum braket, but some noses may not need it as they are not as low as the ms gtc nose.

 

I used a piece of solid aluminum yes.

for $400 it seems like a decent deal, will that include the dzus fittings? The only thing I would be worried about if buying your undertray would be having the shape of the GTC front being different from mine and not looking right.

What kind of time frame are you looking at for completion of this project?
