intercooler install

I just finished installing my PFS intercooler. It was a PITA!! The intake side of the IC had been modified to fit the HKS BOV. The turbo side had been hacked to use it for a single turbo. I didn't think that the APEX-I intake would fit but as you can see I stuffed it in there. Behind the intercooler is probably not the best place to have it but oh well. I didn't want to buy another intake. Car seems to pull harder on top end and the BOV sounds alot better than the stock BOV. Let me know what you think of the install.

Thanks

Looks pretty good, nice job. You may want to re-route that BOV hose. It looks kind of funky.

I have the same one for sale next month. The install is quite simple (an hour) without your BOV.

I just stuck the vac line on there to test drive it. Haven't routed it yet. I was going to install my pullies but I forgot. So i will need to fix it anyway

On a side note, how has it affected your intake temps? When I upgrade mine I'm wanting an M2, but from what I hear their parts delivery has been less than spectacular as of late

Actually I have installed 3 different FMIC's. They weren't hard at all. Most of the work is just moving things around and taking things off. I am getting ready to help my friend install his Greddy 3 rowit should be easy When I said the SMIC was a PITA I was referring more to the fact that I had to use the Apex-i intake. The whole job from bone stock IC to the finished product was less than two hours

Kyle, if you want the M2 style SMIC then get a hold of Kevin, he's the guy who originally made those IC's for M2. He now is making them again because M2 was getting too backed up and he has full responsibility about their delivery. I know that Jason on at the RX-7 store is carrying Kevin's SMIC's. The fit and finish on those units is FIRST RATE!!! That's what I would suggest. Just some food for thought though. Laterz.

I have noticed a big difference in intake temps. The IC also doesn't get as hot as the stock POS(after shutdown) I can't give you any real world temps diffs because I live in AZ, it's 110 in the shade here. I usually have temps in the mid 40's to low 60's. With the stock POS it was usually mid 50's to low 80's. My car seems to pull really nice on top end. I am sure I will get into the 11's this winter

to anyone on stock twins in the 11's
