Integrated Headlights

Hey guys-

I am new to the site. Just recently bought a white stock '94 FD with 23K original miles on it...It is sharp...runs great. I am starting to think about mods. I already got rid of the pre-cat and the plastic AST and put in a boost gauge. I am not ready to screw with the A/F ratio and ECU so what are my options for exhaust system upgrades, etc? Also, has anybody looked into the integrated headlights? Any recomendations on where to get them and how much I should be spending? Thanks.

Hey Matt,

Good to see you've found us! You'll be fine if you just add a catback, but anything more start looking at ecu upgrades.

Not sure what you mean about integrated headlights? There are a few aftermarket non-pop up lights, but so far the consensus is that they are more for show, then function. All current light kits use driving lamp assemblies, which do not have the correct beam pattern as true (and legal) headlamp assemblies. THe one exception seems to be the new Mazdaspeed HID lamp kit, but this was designed to work with their R-Spec bumper and is shaped a little differently then stock. It could be fitted probably with a little reworking of the front bumper.

A couple guys here have ordered a set, so hopefully will hear about that soon.

Ltr!

Check the RX7 Store. Jason has the C-West headlight kit & a wide assortment of exhausts. The Apexi N1/N1 Dual, GReddy Power Extreme, & Racing Beat seem to be the most popular. Remember an intake kit will help the exhaust to be it's most efficient. You already have the downpipe, so adding the intake & exhaust is the most you should do on the stock ECU.
