Intake hose problem

This isn't really a problem, but a question about intakes.

I was only boosting 5 psi under WOT today so naturally I pop the hood.

I was expecting a little silicon hose to be popped off, but to my suprise, one of the intake hoses was off!

My question is what the hell is supposed to hold these things in, I don't see any kind of fastener....

I've included a picture.

The arrow points to the bottom (dual intake) one which was popped off and the circle is the top one that looks just like it.

edit here is a picture that shows where the hose popped off at. I noticed that what I said makes it sound like the black hose came off, it came off where the metal piece enters the intake elbow... What secures that in place?

There really isnt anything to hold them in, mine popped off my apexi intake so I corked it with a rubber stopper. That hose that popped off is just the blow off valve hose, so u can take it off if u want to anyway.

Err that isn't the BOV hose... is it? its always been connected and I've always had a vent to the atmosphere.

and that wouldn't explain my sudden loss of boost either... damnit...

Arrow Uhhh.............

There should be nothing on the intake side that would do that, keep looking under there for somthing else. As far as I know, there are no intake sensors before the turbos that should effect the amount of boost that you are making. That hose popping off, if it is your BOV return line, that can suck since your allowing air to bypass your filter. Plug it or put a hose clamp on it. It does look like your BOV return line.

It's likely a pressed fit. Aluminum is known to have a seizing characteristic and well... it's cheaper to drill a hole a stuff a pipe in it... it'll usually hold if the tolerance was tight to begin with... Try a little locktite and stuff the bugger back in
