Intake box for Apexi..

I am trying to decide between the M2 intake box and the Apexi. I dislike the fact that Apexi gets its air from the engine bay. I was wondering if I could buy the Apexi (single or dual) and make a intake box for it.. somewhat like the M2 box. That way I will getting cold air instead of hotter air. I know they made the Apexi intake primarily in usage of a more open intake.. but would the use of a Apexi filter in a box type set up be any better than the 2 K&N filters inside the M2 box? Any suggestions? Pics? thanks alot.

It would be a waste of time IMO, and extremely hard to do with the way that the Apexi filters sit. The Apexi filters do not flow significantly more (maybe not more at all) than a good K&N filter. A pre-made box like the M2 is hard to beat..
