Installing Short Shifter

I purchesed a short shifter from Ebay. When I went to install it in noticed I had to take the four bolts holding the stock shifters base in place, but it seems like 2 of them are under the floor board of the car! I tried to move the transsmission side to side to get to the bolts but one of them seem impossible to get to. It seems the only way I can get to it without dropping the tranny is cutting the floor board. I did a search and didn't fing anything. I am trying to avoid cutting my floor.

Not sure what shifter you have but when I installed my Mazdaspeed shifter it was very easy. Just remove the 3 bolts holding it in place then remove the old shifter and install the new ring and screw the new shifter in place. It took less then 10 min from start to finish. This is for a FD right?

WTF? I did a B&M. I had to have a friend GENTLY pry with a big flat head with a rag wrapped around it while I removed the four 12mm bolts that secured the old shifter. I also reccomend replacing the plastic "cup" at the bottom with a new one for the short shifter going in. Call Ray. He'll know what you're talking about. And by floor board you mean center console?
