installing a new engine, how-to

OK guys, i have to install a new engine. Is there any precaution to take to remove the OMP and the main Crank pulley? I know i have seen somewhere, someone having problem installing unorthodox pulley because he destroyed something inside the engine, is it the same thing with the stock pulley?

What else should i look at to not have any problem?

Thanks for any advice, let's make this thread a reference for those who do the job themselves.
