Installing new drivers side door handle
I took off the plastic piece and unbolted the two 10mm nuts. Now I can't get the clips off that are holding the two rods on? I have tried twisting them and decompressing them with pliers, any suggestions?

You need to pull the rod out WITH the little clips They are just clipped in there. Those plastic thingys wrap around the bar, and once you get them out you can pull them right off. Just pull them out the door handle.

to remove the rods all you have to do is swing the plastic clip to the opposite side of the slot (in the plastic clip) and then pull the rods out of the hole.

the clips should be able to remain in the door handle. Are you replacing the entire assembley or just the handle it self ? ? ?
To remove the wire you jus have to pop the key switch contacts off from the rear of the key lock, remove one small phillips screw, a small press washer, that will allow the two clips tha go over the wires to come off and the wire to be removed from the door lock assembley. You'll have to also pull the lamp out of it's holder (illuminates the key hole) that should be everything.
