Yes, it is not too bad but parts of it can be a bitch. What type of clutch are you getting? It took me about 8 hours to do it all but I had to wait for a new Flywheel because mine was completely burnt up. Be prepared just in case. Definately get your flywheel resurfaced or replaced. Good luck with everything. Any questions, just ask, I may be able to help.

well Im not a very good mechanic, but I thing if went right I could do it( I believe in myself, hehe) Do I need a workshop manuel to do this, or can I find some instructions on the internet.. the clutch will be a clutch that can hold 400-450 .. I will have my engine rebiult in a few months but I dont have a few months for I clutch(I need one now).Im sure my flywheel will need resurfaced, but will it hurt anything if its not , for a few months at least.. All I have on the car is full exhuast and intake and pfc..The reason Im going with strong *** clutch is becuase when my engine rebiult it will have some goodies to go with it..It wont hurt anything will it??

I just did mine, and it wasn't easy. But you CAN do it, if you've had some mechanical experience and the proper tools.
Check out this link: http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/clutch_install.html
-- better yet print it out and keep it with you when you start working on your car.
You will need the speciality tools that are mentioned. Also when you rent a transmission jack, try to get one that has a smallish platform (the plate that holds the transmission), there's not a lot of room under the car, so the smaller the better. It would be a good idea to get a manual as it has more info, but you could do it from the instructions at the link above.
good luck, if you have questions let me know.

It is really easy. Just dont get a head of yourself. I can swap a clutch and PP in about 50 minutes now but that is with a lift. anyhow here are some basics to remove in order.
1.)drive shaft
2.)power plant frame
3.)connectors
4.)clutch slave & starter
5.)trans

hahah clutch removal can be a bitch. Its not because its complicated. Becase the steps are pretty simple. Its all the bolts that have seized in place that you have to soak down in liquid wrench to remove eg. The PPF bolts what a Pain in the ***. Also the exhaust bolts/studs. If these are rusted in place you will save yourself alot of time and headaches by just cutting them off and buying some couple cent bolts from a hardware store. Also the clutch alignment tool is your friend, you ont want to have to break the tranny out again. Also getting the input shaft into the clutch disk can be a pain in the *** if you dont have a lift and little room to manuver.
All that being said it can be done. I recomend downloading the manuall transmission section of the service manual. This will be your best friend.

Rikkis steps look good I just would like to add some details:
Drain the tranny, be sure to supoprt the engine BEFORE you unbolt the PPF. Support the rear diff don't just let it hang, and be sure to disconnect the clutch via the access panel before unbolting the tranny.

And as mentioned, you have to separate the throwout bearing from the PP because it is a puller clutch. It's very quite easy with 2 long screwdrivers through the transmission windows. There is a Youtube video that shows the operation of separating it. Simply search.
