insanity inducing glove box rattles..HELP!!

I have had this problem on my FD for some time. When I bought the car, Mazda Changed the latches and lock on the gloove box since it rattled during the engine rebuild. but when I got the car back, there a was a screw sitting on the passenger floor mat. I thought this could be trouble. so I looked to see if there was visible area missing a screw. I couldn't find it. the glove box began ratteling again later, so they changed the parts again. now it still rattles, and the biggest bother is a harsh snore-sounding rattle/vibration that is VERY annoying. it seems to be coming from the large box type piece under the glove box area. the thing with the hose connected to it.

is it possible the Mazduh guys got a srew into that somehow? and what is that part and how difficult would it be to get into the area ?the screw I found on the floormat was abour 1 5/8" long if that helps. this sound is driving me insane, so much I have thought about selling my FD when it occurs.

You poor bastard....I feel your pain!
Mine has all sorts of annoying, untraceable rattles, that include the glove box. I managed to eliminate a lot of them by pulling off the interior trim panels and either using electrical tape to secure loose pieces or small pieces of packaging foam to put in between the panels in question.

Does your glovebox light stay on all the time too? I was looking at the old service records for mine, and there are several Mazduh service invoices for when the original owner (I'm the 2nd )was complaining about the glove boz rattling and the light staying on! Obviously the delaership didn't do much of a job!

Good luck....utilize a friend or significant other to ride with you to track down the rattles. I think my poor wife is going to need a chiropractic adjustment from the bizarre contortionist moves I've made her do....(in the car that is....
