following situation. A freshly rebuild engine that I want to brake in with the OEM ECU. Normally i'm driving a adaptronic ecm, so thats why I have innovate Wideband installed.
This is the ouput config:
AFR 14 = 1 volt
AFR 15 = 0.0 volt
So what are the !advanced! settings that the OEM ecu needs in LM-Programmer.
At the moment it has this configuration:
Response 1/12 sec
Warmup: High impedance

This setting causes extreme rich conditions on startup. black smoke of unburned fuel....
I thinks it's because the on-wire OEM probe has no heater and so NO Warmup-time. Should i try to fake a rich condition during heat up by puting out 1 Volt so the OEM does not try to add more fuel?

How did you solve the problem?

 

Stock ECU is meant to run with an airpump. Is yours deleted?

Also, the OEM O2 bung location is too close to the block, and will make your sensor fail prematurely. I think innovate calls for 2 feet from the block. I would just add a bung 2 feet from the block and run both sensors.

 

No Airpump is not deleted.

 

I fooled around once with using a Wideband as a "fake" narrowband for the ECU, didn't work for anything.

Also, many widebands will run too hot and error out if you put them in the stock O2 sensor location.

My recommendation - if you have a stock ECU, run the stock O2 sensor and air pump. If you have a PowerFC, you can remove the airpump and disable the stock O2 sensor, it's really not needed with a decent tune. I haven't run an O2 sensor in years. Also, if you are going to run a Wideband put it at the end of the downpipe, get some distance in there so it doesn't run too hot.

Just run the stock o2 sensor. Or go to an auto parts store and get a replacement like a Bosch. It is a cheap one wire narrowband o2 sensor without a heater.
