As a RHD owner, trust me your better off buying a usdm. JDM is going to cost you way more then you think. From experience, you are gonna get some big surprises week after week, and you never know what your actually getting. So save yourself the time and money and go usdm. you'll have to swap gauges and just because they save its 40000km doesn't mean its 40000. ive seen car claiming to be 60000 actually probably being in the range of 200000 to 300000kms. I know people whose motors gave up a week after they bought it. Im not saying don't buy it, its your choice. But just be prepared for lots of headaches.

First off let me say I live in Japan so things are a little different for me. With that being said, I've been planning sinse day 1 to take my car back to the states with me. The car is on the list to bring back but yes it does have to be converted. Your best bet would be to talk to an importer that does the conversion and see what kind of cost you are looking at. On the other hand, if you already know someone in Japan and can help you out you could do it the other way. Buy the car, rent a container have your friend in Japan strip the car completly down and ship it to you as used auto parts. When you get it back rebuild it replace any bad parts and register it as a kit or collector car. Or do the conversions as you rebiuld it and register it that way as an RX7. Option 1 prob. 10-15k + car, option 2 5-10 + car.

Ever thought of the difficulty of being a RHD in a LHD country?, it's not impossible as I see a RHD cars time and again but it can get tricky.
If you really want RHD just get all the stuff you need out of a 99+ and convert a USDM one since its here and has the current safety standard . Its a pain but the way you want to go is not the most practical either; It all depends on what you really want and can pay for.
