Damn!! Well said!!! I am gonna start using that philosophy everywhere! I can just see Capt'n Kirk to Scotty..."Cap'n, I don't think she can take much more..." "**** it man, this ship isn't made out of paper, it can take some abuse."

SiKoPaThX...look buddy if you have nothing positive to say about RX-7's don't say anything at all. This is an RX-7 forum if you don't like them you should leave and maybe take a trip to honda tech because you'd make a great addition to them. You haven't done anything but state the obvious ("DUH RX-7's BREAK" - SiKoPaThX) nothing helpful and you don't seem knowledgable about the car at all ...On forums, I don't know if you notice the only reason why a group of people talk to each other is because of the cars that they own so we basically give our cars a voice and personality thats why forums are soo popular we ask for feedback on past or current experience with other owners..just for the love of our cars..and it looks like you hate on RX-7's more than a fat woman on the rag that hasn't gotten any in a year.
I love Rx-7s and have owned them since 2002. I've never had a blown motor I could prevent. For the most part, you will almost NEVER have a catastrophic engine failure that will stop you from getting from point A to point B. It's the little things that constantly plague a 15 year old sports car, whose design employed techniques to "cut-corners" in the interest of *****-out performance. The fact is, such things in the car like the AST and Fuel Pulsation Dampener commonly go bad and those sub-$100 parts CAN cause catastrophic failure (engine overheating and engine fire). As far as constant little things though, leaky turbos, boost leaks, oil pan leaks, and 5th Gear Synchros are all VERY common problems that arise no matter how good you are at maintaining your car.
I think FDs are great cars, but not as reliable daily drivers. If/when something goes wrong (or when it snows, some people tend to struggle with these cars in the rain much less on snow or ice) you have another way of getting around, be it getting rides, public transportation, or whatever...fine, but if you don't and you really need it as transportation, I cannot give you the thumbs up.
As it comes straight from the 3rd Gen Section FAQ-
4) Is the FD a good daily driver? How reliable are FDs?
Not really and not very.

Seriously though. My engine has about the same miles. Daily driver and where I live it is routinely 100+. Just get some reliability upgrades. Mine hasn't really given me many problems other than alternator went out. Always cool your turbo after driving.
