Exclamation I'm Very Sorry But I Need Help Please.

Hi, I'm having problems with my 1993 Rx-7. When I start the car, the idle is just fine, between 800-1000 but when I put it in gear, to either first or reverse, the idle starts dropping and jumping from 100-1000 and sometimes it just stalls. Also, after awhile there's a weird smell, not like gas but something else. Can anyone help me? Thanks so much for your time. Sorry, I'm not good with search.

Exhaust smell maybe? Is this an automatic or manual? If it was a manual, I'd say first check the TPS readings.

^~~I'm w/ him... there is 2 of them, one on each side of the clutch pedal arm.... crawl under there and check to see of the plungers are extending when you move the pedal... if not replace them. they are about 20-40 a piece from mazduh.
