Ignition Tuned up w/ problems!

I just installed a new set of used ignition coils, new spark plugs, and an MSD harness in preparation for a MSD DIS-4. The car growls on startup, seems really strong, but seems extremely RICH! The idle also doesn't seem to want to come down from 1200RPM. Is it supposed to be rich when you install a new mess of things. Should I take the car to be tuned for timing and idle? Or do it myself? If so, how? Someone help me with those things.

got me...could it be the used coils? did you check them out before you installed them. when i used to do autoparts we used to check them out with ohm meters and see if they are within "PAR"

Try letting it warm up to operating temp. I might drop down to normal.

Did you remember the grounding on the coils?

try taking out the new harness. if that doesn't do it replace the coils with another set to see if that is the problem. try to isolate the problem to few components.
