ignition pickup problem
My drive pulley sounds like it is "tapping" against my ignition pickups when I press down on the clutch, why is that??

Basicaly end play is the movement of the crankshaft forward and backwards,,,,there should be very very little movement,,,something silly like 0.1mm
if yours is moving to much that its hitting the crank sensors,,,thats bad,,,,,
so either the the cranks worn a little to much,,,,or the end play washer is worn,,,,,, you can get oversize end play washers to take up the slack again,,,but i cant remeber if you have to have the engine out to do so,,,,maybe one of the other guys can tell you

I had a similiar sound and it was the bottom of the vacuum chamber basically bouncing off the pulley or belt. I know it sounds unlikely, but if you've loosened your vac chamber mounts recently to get at the rat's nest ect it's worth checking out.
