Ignition harness
The harness that connects to the coils has three connectors:
white blue black
How are these connected? Order from front of car to back.
white blue black?
white black blue?
Please, if you dont know, dont f**king post! I just blew a new motor and think I had the clips incorrectly terminated on the coil harness.
In fact, I had the ignition harness: white black then blue when I read a post on this very subject stating that it was incorrect so I changed it to white blue then black.
Could someone please help? I am still looking for the thread that says to clip them white blue then black.
thanks

If you had the blue and black reversed, and YOU look at your manual, then YOU would realized that you had your leading plugs firing on #2 rotor trailing plug timing.
Definitely will blow an engine under boost!
When will people realize that the #1 tool is your Mazda Manual.

Interesting...I do have the manual...how do you realize that? If you do not know which clip goes where how do you know which is leading or trailing?
Tell me from the manual, how you would know which clips goes where? It does not refer to colors in the manual.
Yes, I know which plug and coils go to leading and trailing. My plug wires were correct. But how by looking at the ignition harness alone can you tell which is leading and trailing? The manual does not elaborate on this. In retrospect obviously, it was reversed and leading plugs were firing on trailing plug timing.
That is what I get for listening to self made techs on the forum. There is a thread on exactly this subject and it is wrong.

YOU are not worth a response...

I was probably a bit harsh with the previous response...maybe if you look at the electrical manual..which I have only recently acquired....even with the harness improperly terminated, it idled perfectly which is why I did not suspect a timing issue....rock solid..just seemed like it had very little power and made an awful screeching sound under boost...well now I know...dammit have had to learn everyting the hard way...tried to take too much on by myself...at least now I know...thing is I had the car completely together..finally after 5 months nearly six of downtime and hundreds of hours of work...to f*ck up one clip.
Just absolutely pissed...and very bummed.
The motor is tore down and in a crate soon going to be rebuilt...hell the motor did not even have 100 miles on it!
Anyway, the rear apex seal is gone...do you think that anything else is destroyed..e-shaft etc?
