I just changed the plugs in my car and went to start it up. It turns over like it wants to crank but won't. After trying to start the car (while the key is still in the on position) I hear this whining or "sparking" sound coming from the intake plentum. Does this mean the coil is bad? Will the car start with a bad coil? How can I check to see if it is the coil? Could it be something else?

Also, you can smell gas real bad when trying to crank the car.
