ok, its been a couple months, but i finally got back to workin on the car.

I found that when i took off the the UIM, the gasket was pretty wet in spots, i'm not sure if its the carb cleaner i sprayed a couple months ago, or water, but does this indicate a leaky gasket? Also, the TB gasket was a little wet, but not as bad as the UIM gasket. I have used this UIM gasket a few times (meaning i first put it in, then took off the UIM two times and reused the gasket which was only a few days old). I rechecked the hoses and they look good from what i can tell. The leaky gasket could explain the 3400rpm idle, but does this definately indicate a leaky gasket?

Thanks, i'll be working on the car again next weekend and will probably order the gaskets tomorrow if this does mean i need new ones, or just a new UIM gasket.

One last thing. Before this issue, I loosened the bolts to the intake to the first turbo and didn't replace the gasket because it was a PITA to remove the plastic bent hose to the turbo. I'm assuming this shouldn't really matter, but i'm not positive, could this cause any issues with my idle?

 

BTW my TB and UIM gaskets are metal....
