Idle problems only with A/C on

Just installed a FMIC, intake, and new radiator this weekend, and now some idle problems have cropped up. I have a PFC and before the mods, the idle was fine. After the mods, idle is fine without the AC on. As soon as I turn it on, the idle will start surging from 1000-1500 for a while, it'll then settle down, and then without warning the car will suddenly just die. Doesn't matter if it's in N or if the clutch is pressed in....all those switches are fine. Additionally, the intake and water temps are high, about 60 and 97-100, respectively. Historically I've had some idle probs at temps this high. Again, everything settles down as soon as I turn the AC off, so this shouldn't be engine related. I've seen all the posts concerning idle and PFC, but I didn't have this trouble before this weekend, so I wouldn't expect it to be a idle adjustment problem.

Any ideas why this would be happening? My main concern is that the canister on the A/C system (evaporator?) is now mounted lower than it used to be. Is that a problem? The only other thing concerning the A/C system that was changed was that the evaporator was pulled down a little to make room for the FMIC and radiator.

Also, the battery was unplugged during all this. Does the PFC forget its idle learning settings when it looses power? It seemed to remember all other settings like boost, so it didn't appear to forget anything.

Gonna stop using the AC in the meantime, but any input would be much appreciated!

Not sure if this will help but... I had problems with the heat/ac on, sometimes even nothing on. It would just die when I pushed the clutch in. Also sometimes just sitting it would cut out. I ended up replacing my fuel filter and dont_be_a_rikki reset my idle screws. I think he closed off the air bleed screw completely and then just adjusted the idle screw. After that I haven't had a problem.

Yeah, thanks for the tips, but I don't think that's the problem in my case. Fuel filter is brand new, and again all modes...normal, A/C, electrical load, etc worked fine before adding the FMIC, radiator, relocating the battery, and adding the cosmo fuel pump this weekend. And it works fine all the time excpet when the A/C is on.

Any other ideas?
