Sounds like you have a lot of crappy friends
If you're talking the rubber connector right after the y-pipe, that is a common failure point. It may be a factor in your secondary boost issues as well. It could be holding some positive pressure, but when you start pushing 10, it can't hold it. You're probably ok driving the way it is. Think I drove mine a couple of years, including track days, with it torn with no ill effect (didn't have a boost gauge so didn't know it was torn and it may have actually prolonged the life of my engine because when I did fix it, I had boost spike issues)
