idle adjustment

i've been trying to adjust my idle all day

my TPS is in spec, my throttle cable was too tight, this fixed the high rev on idle

i've been adjusting the air bleed screw and the primary butterfly screw

when i crank the car now, it wants to die, until i give it some gas, then it holds at about 800-900

when i turn on the a/c, the idle drops to 600-700

are these symptoms of a bad ISC? where the hell is that anyways? I can't find a single diagram that shows it's location

also, if someone could take a flathead screwdriver to their air bleed screw, and tell me how many turns it takes to get it fully in (so i can tell how many to back mine out)

and then goto your primary butterfly screw and tell me how many threads are showing above the nut

that would help tremendously!

Someone (damian?) had a good thread on adjusting the idle with the past couple of months. There is also one posted by ArchangelX last week I think. You should be able to search for them.

the isc is a cylinder shaped solenoid that is on the firewall side of the UIM. most of it is black and comes after the throttlebody in the intake path.
