NJ i need a small favor please ( CPU ) ive searched

i need a picture of ur CPU NO. 2 ( while in the car or out ) unit and the all clips that plug into it, i need it to verify the wires on mine, im having issues with my headlights and combo switch, ( most importantly, i need to verify the wires in the clip on the bottom )

( does any know how to pull apart the twisty part of the Combo switch? i think mine is broken because when twist it, it does not turn on my headlights, yet my high beams work? i dont understand )

Thank you everyone

I am also having the same problem. My running lights work and my brights work, but my headlights will not work. I have already verified that the relay is good (even bought a new relay). I can pull the relay out and manually over ride the system to pop the headlights up as well. If anybody has any ideas I would appreciate a response too.

To the OP:

I don't have any pictures of that area. I do have the white plug connected to CPU #2 though. I tried to take my combo switch apart as well, but I haven't had any luck.

If the headlights don't pop up, make sure the headlight up/down switch (on the left side of the instrument cluster) is plugged in and working. If it's not plugged in, the headlights won't pop up.

MGB11 : the combo switch has a SMALL bolt or screw on the back, idk if its an allan key or what it is but i failed pulling it apart as well, one thing u may want to do to check is, get a test light and in the BLUE CLIP that connects to ur steering wheel, ( steering column ) you'll see a bunch of wires, with in those wires look for the red ones, theres ( 3 ) of them!! RED/YELLOW is for ur headlights, RED/WHITE is for ur high beam and ur SOLID RED w/ silver dots is ur POWER source that comes from ur fuse block ( head ) check and see if ur getting any power what so ever from the red yellow with ur test light, if not, either ur combo switch died, ur fog light switch clip came loose, or u may have a short ( doubt it ) also remember to check ur HEAD fuse , also note, that if the dash harness is not connected ( double blue clips ) ur head light will not work, check ur grounds ect ect

if i figure it out i'll make sure to take lost of pics and post them for everyone.

and yes the switch must be connected for the lights to pop up and down! in regards to that i have a question, for people who have sleek headlights, do u need to do anything to the clip that pops into the up/down motor or can it be left unplugged?

thanks everyone

Toyotarx7,

Why do you call a wire harness connector a "clip?"
