Oops, my bad.. 15psi is pretty much the limit for stock turbos.. I wouldn't run that high due to this sort of thing. That could play a role in the situation maybe... Even if you rebuilt your turbos... the same thing could happen again...

i think he listed his mods at the end of his post.

With a full 3" exhaust you need some sort of fuel management system. Power Fc for example. With not having that and you are running 15psi on STOCK twins I am surprised your motor is still in one piece. Plus you smoked the turbos my running that high of boost. Yes you need to rebuild the turbos.... Install a HF cat or a stock cat and REMOVE the midpipe. Get a Power Fc... TURN THE BOOST DOWN....

dang kids buying FD's and then have no idea what to do with em and just start modding..... And ppl wonder why rotary motors blow up so often....

I wouldn't worry too much about the tranny heat as the boost pressures your running without an after market ECU tunned for it your engine won't be around much longer. You need to fix the oil leak as there's a fire waiting to happen (can you say really hot tranny) the boost shouldn't be over 10 psi for the stock ECU and with the full exhaust and intake it's doubtful you'll be able to maintain 10 psi with out porting the wastegate.

Unless he is just spiking to 15 PSI, he's not doing 15 PSI on the stock ECU without a FCD (as fuel cut would be slamming on). I would imagine he has an aftermarket ECU in there but may not know about it.

For the tranny, change the fluid out for a good synthetic. Most RX-7 owners use Neo, Royal Purple and Redline fluids for the their trannies. A good fluid will reduce the tranny temperatures.

I would suggest getting an Electronic Boost Controller so you can keep control of your boost (even if you are setup to run higher boost).
