Unhappy I Need Help

I got a problem. My car is at 55 thousand miles on an original motor, and I get some smoke and smell of oil burning from the passenger side of the car. When I take a look at the area under the intake hose, I see oil stains on the y pipe (i think that's what it is) and i see wet oil around what seems to be the gasket that is connected to the pipe that hits the intercooler to the y pipe. When I looked under that after running the car hard, I noticed an orange glowing thing. WHAT THE **** WAS THAT? It is a little triangle shaped opening with a plug going in there, and it was orange and you could see that inside was really hot like a combustion chamber. Could you guys identify the problem for me? I guess to sum it up...

1) Would the Y Pipe gasket leak oil to start smoking as the oil burns off teh hot pipe?

and

2) what was the glowing thing? Is it normal?

I really gotta get rid of that pre cat...that piece of **** is right next to one of the turbos! :/

A little bit of oil in the ic hoses and Y-Pipe is pretty normal. Take some hand tools and take it all apart and clean it up with a rag, to get rid of some oil build up in there. Also, make sure everything is properly tighten, most likely it's not tighten and that is why you are noticing the oil.
