I Love My Fd
#29
since my baby is new, I've been going over many many ground rules with the gf. she's one of those "opens the door with her foot" people, I know, I know .. I've thought about dumping her.

Ive only had my Fd for 4 months and love it but she does have a bite too... i think she'll need a rebuild soon since she has 181k miles on her and my turbos are blown to so i see a couple hard months coming up to....

ive always said that my RX-7 will make my parenthood a little bit easier; when the time comes, hopefully after my FD is 'finished' (if there's a such thing as a finished project.) ive learned a lot of patience with this car. the money hurts, but the feeling i get whenever i drive it, whether going to the grocery store or on the track, is well worth the cost.
i sat in it and strapped myself into the harnesses for the first time since i put it away over the winter and i fell back in love. i was a little sad when the battery wouldnt charge, but help is waiting for me at home in the form of a 12.5lb replacement and she'll be started this weekend (knock on wood.) i even made vroom vroom noises like i was a kid all over again. its sad how much i love this thing! i still see it as a car, but when ive devoted this much thought, and i seriously think about it at least once an hour everyday (sadly, not lying), i cant help but love it as much as i do. its as addictive and expensive as crack, but at least i have a full smile in my whenever im on the throttle!
her name is Mia and we are coming up on our 5th year anniversary. Here's to many more! we are accepting anniversary presents in the form of a Tilton Brake Bias controller, resonated mid pipe, dual 25-row oil cooler kits, Racing Brake big brake kits, or CCW Classic rims. PM me for the address for where to send it. May 17th: save the date.

After reading this thread I just had to go for a drive.
And I have to agree.
I bought my FD 2 months ago for twice the amount that I bought my previous car for, but still, best purchase ever!
But naming a car? that's weird. Like it's going to come over when I call it...

I <3 my FD, I loved my other past FCs I had, but there's something special about the FD. I've kissed the steering wheel before and also hugged her. My FD's name is Rika, it's Japanese meaning is: "Valued Fragrance". My friends always complained about the way Rika made me smell. So I figured it was the perfect name. I love smelling "rich", but hate being poor, LoL! I'm almost done saving up parts for a rebuild swap/single turbo conversion. After I deploy then return I will begin the process. I can't wait to have my FD running like a champ. She still runs ATM, but not well. I just drive it a couple miles every few days to keep coolant from flooding the engine. Now to go for a small drive. This is an awesome thread. The whole time I thought I was just overly addicted =D
edit: I even had a custom ring made me for while I was in Iraq, I only wear it when I drive my FD. It's the only piece of jewelry I own. I'm not into wearing that stuff, and people keep calling it my pimp ring =P

No it's not Turbo'd
After an argument with my wife, about the time I spend with the car, I asked her, "Would you rather I cheat with a car on you in the garage, or a hooker in a motel?" Settled the argument pretty quickly. And No, I wouldn't cheat on my wife...
