I just got a good deal on an FD.

i just got a deacent deal for an FD.
6 months ago i had a 1990 black on black rx7 convertible and the engine blew i kinda got tired of the 2nd gens and the fact that i couldnt afford an FD so i desided to sell all my rx7 ****.i ended up buying a motorcycle-2000 gsxr 750 so i have been messing around with that..now 4 weeks ago i saw an add on craigslist for a 1993 mazda rx7 with a reman engine with about 40k on it, it was listed for $9,000,i desided to go look at it since i had nothing better to do that day,to make a long story short it was red with black interior, realy good condition just like i wanted and he didnt mention that it was an automatic so i lowballed that crap out of him for $7500 he went for it so now i am happy as a pig in ****,and gonna sell my bike, just wanted to share my dumb story-i will post pictures soon

Check out http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...leshooting.htm to get you started. I would start by checking your couplers if you haven't already.

Check all the hoses for a leak including the lower intercooler hose and the y-pipe coupler. Those 2 seem to be the most common.

Congrats on the FD.

Truth be told my 1st FD was an auto too. I originally thought it would drive me nuts but strangely enough I loved it. You can still do PLENTY and evolve that car into a beast if you want.

Yes, Rexhvn, I own one now. Love it. Just saying that you don't have to look at having an auto as a diappointment.

Congrats on a good deal!

Now use that money you saved from lowballing and start your auto to 5spd conversion.

I dont even know why auto FD's still exist. lol

Seriously I would never drive an AUTO FD, but a local forum member (a3dcadman) has one and has a few go fast mods and had his transmission tweaked for optimum performance by a friend of his... Lightning fast!!! It's scary how fast and smooth the car shifts...

Awesome, I still remember when I pretty much stole my silver 93 with 80k miles for 4000. Take care of her and she will do the same for you.

I've had an auto as well and spent more time sideways in it than I do in my manual one. (Not to say it doesn't get sideways on a regular basis) but the Auto was a blast as well.
