I have the most serious car problems, beginning to dislike my car :(

Hey guys, more problems again... My FD, did run strong before.... but now it has serious issues, and im about to be one crybaby of a man. I will start the car, idles fine. I go out and drive the car... Boosts to 4 PSI max... among other issues... after a while I let it decelerate, when i do this the idle will go down to the last line, sometimes recovers, but most of the time it will die. Also.. when driving, under load or not the car will die sometimes... The more serious problem is that under load, after warm up.. the car will feel like it stopped sparkin/or ran out of fuel... like a rev limiter almost around 4-5K, so i shift to a high gear/ lower RPM.. and it will run. Of all the times it dies... it will not be able to start up right afterwords, but most of the time 10 minutes later.

I have just, when this problems started occuring, installed new plugs, old ones were very coated in black, and replaced the fuel filter.

Could the cats be seriously clogged? Fuel pump failing out?

All help is very much so appreciated, i am going to go cry now.

Very strange stuff. How's your engine? Have you gotten a compression check? The car has so many variables, I won't lie to you. It sucks. It could be your ECU, your injectors, your engine. Good luck! I know this doesn't help. But I've been there.

check to make sure that you put back the plug wires correctly and also that your fuel filter is not clogged, check for a vaccum lines, it kinda sounds like your running on limp mode, try resseting the cpu also

oh and sounds like you have hot start problems

that prolly related to your leaky injectors or low compression.

don't try to boost. I have a bad secondary so i wired in a FC injector so i don't go in limp mode (the injectors had an open circuit). You can drive fine if you keep under 3k and don't wot. I'm still in break in so it's not too bad.

max 4 psi of boost indicates an open wastegate.Check your vacuum lines that affect the wastegate. Also check the actuator rod for the wastegate. Its under the car.Its the actuator closest to the passangers side wheel. It sounds to me like youre having multiple problems.Hesitation and flooding means you have a spark problem.Check your ignition coils the wires and also the small ingnition harness for problems.I had a faulty harness that took 10 months to diagnose. After your car dies check to see if your plugs are fouled. If they are drenched in fuel youre flooding out.Spark problem.Check your fuel pressure to eliminate the fuel pump.Just be systematic in your diagnosis and you will eventually figure it out.Dont give up so easily.good luck

I might be in limp mode, my boost is manually controlled... nonsequential stock twins... Does being in limp mode cause the idle, normal driving do such things?
if i go to low boost, and it stops/still occurs could this be a good diagnostic?

I am throwing no codes while i am driving, could i still be throwing a code but now knowing it?

I have seen cars boost 4-5 psi in limp mode. Also, here is a link to a someone who has also experienced boost in limp mode without throwing a code:

if you get a code you will either get a check engine light or a hold light flashing for us auto fd owners when theres something that the auto tranny ecu picks up.But theres so many things that can go wrong and the ecu wont pick up.
My suggestion to you is to check for the basics.
Check to see if youre getting fuel and the proper pressures. Then check to see if youre getting spark from all 4 spark wires. If everything checks out check for vacuum leaks, clogged cats, electrical problems. When have you noticed these symptoms? did you work on the car before these symptoms showed up? might be an indicator as to when something went wrong and also what may be causing your troubles.

When I was in limp mode for a month or two, I couldn't boost at all. It would just sputter and go nowhere.

Trying to diagnose driveability problems over the internet is kind of hard. It sounds like you have some semi serious problems and you need an experienced mechanic to look at whats going on. Good luck either way!

Hey , after giving the car one last drive a noticed the CEL came on for a second... it was the 51 fuel pump relay..... so i fix it, reset ECU... drive a good 30 miles... (idle still drops way down) and then all of a sudden another code, followed by dying... trying to check this code, but all it does is leave the CEL light on forever??? What is this supposed to mean?

sounds like a seal broke. Its loading up with fuel because the fuel isnt being burned on one of the cycles. Prob starts hard when warm. Doesnt idle ,Sputters and wont boost due to too much fuel.
