I Found the Secret Ingredient in Pettit's Protek-R
Hey all,
I did a little research and I think that I found out the secret to Protek-R. IT'S NOT MADE BY PETTIT. Well...I'm sure that most already know this. I looked on Pettit's site and looked for key words like: "clean burn technology", and Klotz SFP Inc.---I did a google.com search and came to www.klotzlube.com
I looked under the motorcycle section for 2-stroke engines and found a product that sounds exactly the same as Protek-R. It's $5.65 a pint or $56 for 10 pints.
Anyway...in end, Pettit only charges about $5 for one gallon and at least you know it's supposed to go in your engine.
I use Protek-R and Marvel Mystery Oil. I switch depending on how I'm going to drive the car. (i.e. if I know that I'll be track racing or something like that or if I have a hot date)

Actually, about a year ago a friend of an insider at Pettit told us what the product was. The thread was deleted and they told us not to publish this information as it was not fair to Pettit to do so. I have actually found several products that claim to be as good. I seem to have to use more fuel injector cleaner when I use this stuff though. It did not seem to make my car run any better, even though it should.

Oh...I'm not trying to defame Pettit or anything. I don't think that $5 is a big difference. I've been to Pettit and got nothing but the best service. I kind of just put it out there FYI. Considering it's only $5, I'd probably just but the Protek-R. It's probably cheaper to ship that than 10 bottles of the other stuff, or should I say "same" stuff.
