CA i cant get the engine and tranny apart

i need some help im pulling my engine and i cant get the engine and tranny apart. i have read that "For disengaging the clutch take a flat head screwdriver and put it between the release collar and the wedge collar and give it a tap, it should pop apart". so i think i found what they are talking about but nothing is popping apart. do i need to have the clutch pushed in when i do it? any help would be great. i have also tried to take the clutch from the flywheel but the nuts on the back are spinning.

Thanks Keith

may want to get a friend to help, but yes you have to push the arm toward the clutch then use the screwdriver and push the collar down. let the arm go and it should be disengaged.

One of the things that I can't seem to do, I always end up taking all the bolts off the pressure plate. I have a buddy that can do it in 15 seconds but I can be there for an hour cursing and still can't release the damn thing!!!

I pushed the bearing all the way in toward the engine and used the screwdriver to hold the ring in place while I pull on the bearing.

If you blew up your clutch parts can be lodged in the way not letting the collor disengage. This happened to me, taking the preasure plate off is pretty easy and works fine so if you have to you can do that. good luck
