Question I am a little worried

...I just upgraded my exaust to a Greddy Power Extreme....now it seems that my car is running a little rich and every once in a while when in 1st or 2nd gear, it sounds like it backfires.

Now my questions are is this bad and what needs to be done?

My mods are listed below.

I am also considering getting a ECU right away, was going to wait, but I do not want to destroy the engine. What would you guys recommend?? My RX-7 is just a daily drive and I am not looking for extreme power, just mods that will help maintain my engine. Although as I have noticed it seems like whenever I upgrade one thing, I need another...an endless circle...

I think its about time for u to add an ecu. After 2 mods, u should do it. As far as backfiring, don't worry about that. It's just back pressure in the exhaust. With the mods u have, any ecu will do the job, of course, the power fc would be ur best choice

Don't worry man. FDs do that when you change the stock exhaust. Many people including me shoot 1-2 foot flames sometimes!

As for always wanting to upgrade something...welcome to the world of the FD money pit.

How would increasing air flow (Gredy Power extreme) cause a car that apparently does not electronically compensate with increased fuel to run rich?

He said "now it seems that my car is running a little rich". I'll bet he was assuming the backfiring was being caused by the car running rich.

Just a confused soul trying to make sure his FD isn't going to explode.
