I am having problems with my datalogit...i know about the pfc section...

I have posted a thread in the pfc section with very little responce. I want to make sure I was screwed before i throw this damn thing in the garbage

I bought the datalogit from a fellow forum member about 18 months ago. I haven't had to use it until now...to my surprise the damn thing doesn't work. It is giving me an error message of 'interface not responding!'

I have tried hooking it up with both the serial to serial cable and the serial to USB cable. I get the same message with both.

The datalogit does have a white wire coming out of the side. I am assuming it's some type of ground wire...I have tried it both grounded and not grounded...same results.

Any ideas or is it garbage time????

IF ANYONE HAS A DATALOGIT IN THE DFW AREA I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT I COULD BORROW IT FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES. I NEED TO DOWNLOAD MY PUMP GAS MAP FROM MY LAPTOP.

Thanks,

Bill

The wire is for an external input, you don't have to ground anything.

I did have trouble plugging the Datalogit into the PFC's connector, it was a real snug fit, and if it's not seated in there well it might not respond.

Also, make sure your serial port is set up right and you're picking the correct COM port in the Datalogit software.

The Datalogits seem to be fairly hardy, but you never know. If the loaner doesn't work with your laptop, that could be the root of the problem. If it works great and yours still doesn't, you'll know the deal. Might want to contact the Datalogit folks to see if they do repairs or something.
