I pondered this idea the other day...What if you could toss the stock gearbox and rear end, and mount the gearbox in the rear like a C5 corvette or a porsche 944. It would certainly be costly but you could see pro's like better weight balance for heavier engine conversions, possible strength increases, cooling(?).

Can anyone think of any other short comings besides cost?

After all there is Jimlabs BA Cobra IRS setup, amoung other custom drivetrain fabs people have done.

I am sure someone could fab something like this up....with the right amount of money of course.

it would probably be cheaper to buy a C5 or a Porsche 944/928/968 and install a three rotor into one of them.
