I put mine on before I leave home. I have not tied putting them inside the car. I don't think there is enough room for all four. Besides who want's 4 dirty tires inside thier car.
The other chose is to trailer the tires behide your car or trailer the car.

I have a trailer hitch and all else needed on my car if anyone wants to buy it because I will never use it.
It's on the back but you can't even see it.
I can get pics if anyone wants cause I need some money noW!
It's a uhaul setup and it cost over 1000 dollars to get everything
I have the reciepts.

You can fit four stock or 245 sized tires in the car, any wider and you might have problems getting them in there.
Could always build your own tire trailer...

If you are just taking two, couldn't you throw down some towels, scoot the backseat forward and put one in the seat and one behind it?
Oh... And speaking of Drag Racing

I thought he was talking about drag racing instead of road racing 4 vs 2.
Put one in the trunk(laying flat) and the other on top of the bins(standing up), the passenger may have to scoot up a little but not much.
Do not drive 100 miles on slicks, that's way too far. You will wear them down quicker and possibly run into wet roads.

The Hoosier R3S03s are mounted on the car. The car is hauled inside a black 27-foot enclosed trailer pulled with a Red Cummins diesel-powered Dodge Ram Dualie we call, "Big Red Truck"

Read thethread below. it will answer all your questions. I installed the hitch myself and supplied all the part numbers in the thread. The hitch from U-Haul is less than $150 and I spent another $200 for a 40"x48" trailer to which I attached a tire rack and large truck bed toolbox.
I race about every other weekend from March to November so I have used it a lot. The loaded trailer probably only weighs 250-300 pounds and pulls with no trouble at all. Mine has done several long trips and 80mph down the highway is a non-issue. With the trailer balanced correctly I have only about 30 pounds on the tongue, the car harly knows it is there.

Oh, did I tell you about my crew chief, Mr. Doug Livingston (Autosport Outfitters proprietor)? About the only things I worry about during a drivers ed, are instructing my students and driving my car at 9/10s Hoosier R3S03s' stick potential. Doug takes care of everything else...yeah I sleep during the road trip too Hey what do you expect from a man born in 1926, huh??
The other side to that is I pick up the tab for everything else (hotel, hoochies, fuel, food, alcohol--Doug's a Scot, so he can put the brewskis away)! Did I type "hoochies", I mean uhh, dates
Seriously it's race etiquette for the driver to take care of the crew away from the track, in exchange for the crew taking care of the driver AT THE TRACK

well if you are the serious drag racer type then just take your passanger seat out. now you have plenty of room. what about that? as for the track racing, still take out the seat and run two in the front, one on the bin and one in the trunk. bookoo tire marks in your car.

Now that you know how to get them there, what to do with the stock wheels while racing? Is the track safe enough that no one will steal them if you leave them in the pits?
What I used to do is take my car cover with me, leave the wheels in the pits and wrap them up with the cover.
