How to take off the ABS sensor?

I'm putting new springs on the front of my car and http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/...stallation.html

Says to remove the abs sensor, but it won't budge. The shop manual doesn't say how it comes off, only "remove abs sensor"

what gives? i dont' want to break the thing

theres a 10mm or 12mm bolt that holds them in (If i remember correctly) then you gotta wiggle them alot to get them out.....

I dont remember my friend needing to remove his ABS sensors when he did his springs though

I saw a bolt slightly below the sensor but I didn't remove it. I'm guessing the reason for removing it is because with those instructions you're dropping the whole linkage down by removing the bolts to the upper control arm, and once it drops it'll be pulling on the ABS sensor cable.

If anyone has another way to remove the dampers and springs i'm all ears

there is a 10mm or 12 mm bolt just like obvious boy said....it just bolts up ...so un bolt it and push it out of the way....its quite easy to remove....oh and dont get confused if the sensor doesnt fall out immediately after you remove the bolt because the sensor sits in a groove so you have to nudge it a bit...well good luck and peace out

Sweet, thanks guys. This is another first time job for me, I'm kind of beat after doing the rears (and breaking my 3/8" ratchet- and multiple trips to auto stores to find a 1/2" drive 17mm socket ) and fighting with this ABS sensor, so I'm gonna finish up tomorrow.

Well the damn thing was fused to the control arm, so I just supported the assembly with a ramp and a blanket and that worked fine.

yeh tends to be some rust in the area
remove the 10mm bolt. spray some wb40 around the cylinder then remove it. take it easy as you can easily ruin the sensor when using force
