How to take apart / remove passenger seat belt buckle
As I was looking for information about replacing/disassembling seat belt retractors earlier today, I found a few related and unanswered questions. Seems the larger passenger buckle can give people some trouble when they want to remove the belt or the plastic triangle trim piece. It feels silly, but since it's super easy to take apart and I didn't find an existing instruction, I figured I could make a quick walkthrough for the future.
Step 1.) Pop the plastic cover off, I've found starting with the back is easiest.
Step 2.) Under that you'll see the belt comes through over a bar. Pull some slack through so you can get to that bar.
Step 3.) The 'bar' is a metal bar and a plastic retaining clip. Be careful with the clip its old plastic and fragile, you can see mine is broken. Pop the two little hooks on top up and remove the clip by sliding back/down.
Step 4.) The metal bar is now loose, you can slide it to one side or angle it to remove it. It should come out really easily.
Step done.) You're done, let the belt back through the buckle and you're set. Installation is reverse of removal!
Installation note) The metal bar has two different size cuts milled out, so it matters which way it goes back together. Make sure you have it oriented the right way to match the plastic clip.

Thanks!
FYI, it seems like just the 93 cars have a weird/clunky passenger buckle. I think that may be due to no airbag on the passenger side. The 94's have the same buckle on each side.
The downside is the other buckle is pretty much not replaceable, it's threaded on the belt.
Thanks!
